In the future …

The look & feel of that email will improve.  You’ll be able to set a specific frequency & time of day to have your journal sent.

Note that this feature shouldn’t be confused with another upcoming feature: Alerts.  Alerts will be like an alarm clock on a per ToDo basis.  Alerts are valuable … hopefully the Daily Journal will be just as useful.  Also, we snuck in a few other tweaks this week (mostly design & what we hope are user experience improvements).

• Emailing to you everywheretodos.com address now let’s the Body of the email become the Todo’s Notes (currently the Subject of the Email is the actual ToDo task)
• Emailing with a Subject beginning with “list:” creates a list instead of a ToDo; and the body of that email can generate a set of list items (where each new line in the body is a ToDo task).
• The iPhone experience is being overhauled & what’s available now is much better than the old version — but still has a little work to be done
• New improved Add List functionality lets you add the list & the list’s items — quickly
• After deleting a List, you have the same Undelete option as you currently do for list items
• Some small design enhancements, too

That’s it for now & probably for a few weeks too.

Here’s some recent progress:

• Items in your INBOX can now be dragged & dropped to other lists
• Signing In provides better error feedback for bad user names & passwords
• Email publishing of ToDos is much faster & more reliable

There are also a few new features to check out (see the other post from today for details).

Right now, as it stands, these are fairly vague — if not absent — so let us know about your concerns:

1. You can now drag items from one list to another
2. You can now re-order, via drag & drop, all lists
3. You can drag & drop items from lists to the Trash bin

Now, while viewing a list just click on the i next to a list name & you can send an email to a list of recipients (along with a message).  The list and other useful information will appear in the email too.

Now you can share a list and let others add items.  They’ll need a “key” which you set; from your list.  Just click the i next to your list; make it collaborative by checking that particular box.  Set your password & start sharing.

We’ll be adding a feature soon, to allow easy & direct emailing from your list.

This feature is great for showers, shopping lists & a whole lot more.  Leave a comment with your feedback and suggestions for other places this might be useful.

Previously, this was done by single clicking a ToDo item;

Now, you have to Double Click items.

A demo video will be posted soon.  The background on this change revolves around related bugs that had to be resolved; and this — for some strange reason — was the only way.  If it can resolved in another way single vs. double clicking to edit will become a preference.
